Seville Orange Marmalade, Squirl, USA
Every year a British man named John Mattingly calls Squirl to say that his Sevilles are ready to be picked. He has THE ONLY Sevilles in Southern California.
The jam-making process involves throwing the oranges into Johnʼs pool for rinse, and fishing them out with a net, they get about 100lbs per season, and are under strict instruction to pick every last fruit from the tree.
Even so, there isnʼt much– its only one tree after all. If you're into trad marmalades, get this shining example every year before it's gone.
Highly recommend Squirlʼs jam of the month club, for $48 you can delight someone for a year.
