Bandeau, Eres, France
Eres made a proprietary material for swimwear. They call it Peau Douce, "soft skin". Like Alaïa pushed the boundaries of stretch fabric with a sculptor's mind, Eres wanted to address how swimwear performs and interacts with our bodies.
Soft enough to show the female form, subtly shaping but not contorting. Never underwire, padding (or pattern for that matter) it pulls the body into focus, simply, which is universally flattering. Peau Douce has this crazy slinky early-days DVF thin feel but you still feel sort of hugged.
The design is also specially engineered and treated to withstand degradation from all the crazy things we put our poor bikinis through– UV, chlorine, salt water, sunscreen. The colors stay bright and real over many summers, the bikini itself lasts decades.
Come for the colors, stay for the Peau Douce.
